I have graduated from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam – The Netherlands (MSc Sociology) and have 50 years of worldwide experience in the field of safe mobility and road traffic safety in the public- and non-governmental sector, and as an international executive consultant and expert as well.

 

My fields of expertise are capacity building, strategic issues, policy plans and programs, target-setting, (data)management, road safety, urban mobility, human factor, networking, building partnerships and empowerment. I am lecturer and panellist at international seminars and congresses, trainer/presenter at (inter)national workshops and courses and international advocate for road safety.

Activities

I am Associate Consultant at LuxMobility-Luxemburg and Consultant to the Board of the International Road Victims’ Partnership IRVP and Les Ambassadeurs de la Sécurité Routière ASR from Tunisia. I work with companies VIA Software, SaveDrivePod and OSS Sensor Solutions Group BV. For OSS I wrote various reports and I was involved in projects about mobile hospitals and contour marking for heavy vehicles. I was Technical Project Director at Road Safety project in Turkey and I am Director of LASER International Foundation, an organisation that organizes Road Safety Film Festivals all over the world. Recently, I was the main presenter (“Shift of Paradigm for Sustainable Safe Mobility”) in a Webinar on Road Safety organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India.

I participated in global and regional road safety networks like UN Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC), UNECE Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP1), Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, West African Road Safety Organization WARSO) and the International Road Victims' Partnership (IRVP).

Africa is my focal continent when it comes to road safety and urban mobility. I am collaborating with the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC in Nigeria for more than 15 years. I was a trainer of the “NUFFIC/Orange Knowledge Programme(OKP)” NMT-training programme for FRSC-Nigeria, he was teacher of the Delft Road Safety Course (DRSC) and is one of the training staff of the Africa Sustainable Urban Mobility Course – Abuja-Nigeria (Africa SUMC).

 

In my capacity as Associated Consultant at LuxMobility I am involved in the SAVELIVE AFRICA project introducing and implementing reliable Data Management and Collection Systems, starting in Senegal.

 

I was member of organizing and scientific committees of many international conferences and performed consultancy activities for different countries, including Albania, Poland, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Romania, Ukraine, Morocco, Tunisia, Benin, Nigeria, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, India, China, Turkey.
